Letter to Rob

Rob,

I know that you will never read this note or respond to it, but I want to say I am sorry. I am sorry for the words said in anger over KO’s banning from Arl.. It is all so unimportant compared to the bigger things in life. I will never know why, truly why, you did the things that you did. I will never get the questions I asked answered. I accept that. You did what you felt had to be done for the good of the game, I get that. We didn’t agree on it but we did talk about it and that is the end of it.

I want to thank you for your words to me though.. About Ko and about me in regards to Arl and the things that we brought to the game as a whole. I know that we made a difference and that in a way it made something easier for you. I want to thank you for taking the time to talk to me and to listen when others would not. For trying to explain a few things that I was not understanding, and for just listening in general.

Most of all I want to thank you for being you, for being part of the game that I got pulled into kicking and screaming, then refused to leave. Thank you. You made a difference. You touched lives and made an important impression on people. You dealt with things that some of us have never been able to do. You where there for the younger players as well as the veteran ones and we all thank you for that.

We where all so happy to see you back online after surviving your cancer, the kidney transplant going so well. I know how happy your family must have been as well as you. You being back was like a ray of sunshine in what was becoming a dismal place.

You didn’t tell us that your body was rejecting the kidney, that you where sick again. We didn’t get to tell you how much we all wanted you to get better, but you knew it anyway. I guess that is why you didn’t need to tell us really. You where brave and strong and did what you felt was right. You sheltered your family from your pain until you could not any longer and you sheltered your friends. I cannot image what you have gone through, what your family is going through now.

When Ratphink sent Ko a message that said you had passed, KO told me and we where both in shock. Phink said that you left e-mail/letters and instructions to your cousin on how to deliver them. Maybe Ko will get one, I don’t know, it is more then ok if he does not. I talked to Phink and offered to write the notice for Arl, he said that maybe someone else should that got the email from your cousin, but then changed his mind. I feel partially responsible for that.. I didn’t mean to push Phink.. I just said that if he wanted I would write something and post it. He said he would do it himself.

There have been some responses already and I know that we counselors will be busy over the next few days and weeks, you touched so many, well over 200.. I looked. We will miss your wit and your charm and your comments. You will always be the Ork with a brain to me. The Arl Calculator, you’re better known title.

Your passing has come to us all as a shock; your loss is deeply felt. Tears have been shed and will for a time. Watch over us Rob; watch over your family, all of your friends. Most of all, though, be at peace without pain.. without misery.. rest well in the place that you have gone.

Know that you where my friend Arakasi and I thank you for that.

Rest in peace...

Sincerely,

Silverbow aka Mrs. Khornesone
